What BooxDay stores

Everything you create in BooxDay (memos, tasks, events, settings) is stored on your tablet. None of it is sent to the developer of BooxDay. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from the tablet.

Data from your Google account

Connecting a Google account is optional. If you connect one, BooxDay requests:

• Google Calendar (view and edit events): to show your Google Calendar events in BooxDay and to send events you create, change or delete in BooxDay back to your calendar.
• Google Drive, limited to files BooxDay creates: to save backups of your BooxDay data to your own Google Drive and to restore them. BooxDay cannot see or change any other files in your Drive.
• Your Google account email address: to show which account is connected.

This data travels directly between your tablet and Google. Copies of synced events are kept on your tablet so the planner works offline. BooxDay does not send Google user data to its developer or to any server run by BooxDay, does not sell it, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train AI models.

BooxDay's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data from your Microsoft account

If you connect an Outlook or Microsoft account, BooxDay reads and edits your Outlook calendar events and reads your basic profile (name and email) to show which account is connected. As with Google, this data moves directly between your tablet and Microsoft and is not sent to the developer.

Optional AI features

AI features are off unless you connect your own OpenRouter account. When you use an AI feature, the content you ask it to work on (for example a voice recording, handwriting, or text to summarize or translate) is sent to OpenRouter under your account and handled by OpenRouter's own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to the developer.

Other network use

BooxDay downloads Google's on-device handwriting recognition model, and checks the BooxDay GitHub releases page for app updates.

Removing access

You can disconnect an account in the app's settings at any time. You can also remove BooxDay's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or to your Microsoft account at account.live.com/consent/Manage. Backups saved to your Google Drive stay there until you delete them.

Children

BooxDay is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions can be raised on the BooxDay GitHub issues page.
